Limiting factors
Along with factors which induce customers to introduce the software on demand, and developers – to invest resources in its creation, there is a number of the deterrents limiting use of given model.
First, concept SaaS is not applicable for some functional classes of systems.
Proceeding from specificity of relations between the provider and the customer within the limits of the given concept, it does not approach the customers having the requirements to considerable individual adaptation of information systems for the needs.
Secondly, use of a software component on demand means a binding of the customer to the unique developer which places the software on the platform, and also administers and supports it. Thirdly, many customers are afraid to apply SaaS because of reasons of safety and possible information leakage from outside the supplier of these services. Theoretically possible problems with safety practically exclude use of concept SaaS for crucial systems. On the other hand, in case of expansion SaaS in industrial date-centres, is provided essentially the best protection at the expense of application of more powerful and complex decisions on information safety.
Fourthly, the factor negatively influencing development SaaS is necessity of presence of constantly operating connection to the Internet on enough high speed.
